The Best of Hair 2016

I went on a bit of a hair journey in 2016. I've been natural my entire life but I decided that 2016 would be the year I really learned my hair. I wanted to be good to my hair, guarantee good curl days, and [hopefully] see some good growth. I went through a ton of products and tried a million techniques, in the end, these are the products that will be journeying with me into 2017...and far beyond!

Curls Blueberry Bliss Reparative Leave-In Conditioner and Curls Blueberry Bliss Twist N Shout Cream became my go-to combination for wash and go's that simply couldn't go wrong. If you're a fine hair curly girl like myself I suggest using only a dime size amount of the cream because it's super thick and super moisturizing but the right amount will leave you with a soft and defined wash and go (and no greasy feel which is essential for us fine haired gals!)

As I Am's Coconut CoWash is the first cowash I've ever used and it left me wondering what in the world took me so long to join the movement. In my opinion, this works as a clarifying cowash, which basically means it gets a deep clean (without stripping your hair of its oils), and you still get the moisturized feeling that's made cowashing so popular in the natural hair community. I'm so glad I finally gave into the hype.

Design Essentials Rosemary Mint Stimulating Super Moisturizing Conditioner is a product that I bought on a whim after my hairdresser used it on my hair before a trim. This is a "stimulating" conditioner because of the mint which tingles on your scalp, increasing blood flow which ultimately promotes hair growth. Not to mention, it leaves your scalp feeling refreshed which I love.

Shea Moisture's Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen, Grow & Restore Treatment Masque has been a major key this past year. This hair masque tackles all your hair concerns with just one product! It will make your hair stronger and softer, thicker and longer, and is perfect for getting life back into your hair after rocking a neglected bun all week (don't lie, we've all been guilty of this!).

That wraps up my hair favorites of 2016!

'til next time, beauties!
