The Best of Skin 2016
Around this time of year, there’s a lot of talk about what we’re leaving behind and changes we want to make for the New Year. Well, today I’m here to share some skincare items that are just too good to leave behind! It takes a conscious effort on my part (a self-proclaimed product junkie) not to overdo it and splurge on unnecessary beauty products. Having an arsenal of dependable products that address all my skincare needs helps to keep my beauty spending in check.
Without further ado, I’d like to present the skincare products I discovered in 2016 that I. Just. Can’t. Let. Go.
Mario Badescu’s Cucumber Tonic Mask has been a lifesaver when my I’m fighting a breakout! It works wonders for purifying my skin & tightening my pores (which makes for flawless makeup application *wink wink*). Truth be told, if I’m dealing with breakouts my skin tends to look pretty irritated and blotchy which is another reason this mask is perfect for me! It’s made with cucumber extract which calms and cools the skin leaving it looking fresh and healthy!
Shea Moisture’s Sensitive Skin Mask is a holy grail product in my book! After just one use I knew I wouldn’t be regretting this purchase. Since I picked this bad boy up, I’ve found myself gravitating towards it whenever my skin can use an extra shot of moisture, which is essential in these colder months (and yes, if you’re an oily gal like myself you need to moisturize too!).
Murad’s Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum was a purchase I made towards the end of the year that I just couldn’t leave off of this list. Being acne-prone can suck for many reasons, one being I’m left with scars (hyperpigmentation) once my spots have healed up. This can be pretty depressing because while a breakout will last about a week, the scarring can linger for over a month. This serum dramatically reduces the appearance of my dark spots in just a week. Get you some, girl!
Ulta’s Dual Action Cleansing Brush is amazing! At this point, we’ve seen hundreds of similar brushes at different price points but if you aren’t ready to splurge on a $100+ cleansing brush, this may be a good alternative. You’ll get the same deep clean at more than half the price. Try it out for yourself!
Stay tuned for part 2 of this series where I share my favorite hair products of 2016.
‘til next time beauties!
