My Essentials for an Effortless Everyday Face

“If you look good, you feel good.” This has always rung true for me! There’s just something about looking put together and polished, despite a lack of sleep, that makes me feel like I’m ready to take on anything the day may throw at me. I may be running on 5 hours of sleep and a ton of caffeine, but I don’t want to look like it.

On days when I need a little extra pep, I like to do a face mask while getting ready for the day. Rather than taking the time to apply foundation, highlight, and contour I find it more useful to invest that time into showing my skin extra love with a moisturizing or calming face mask. After rinsing, my skin feels supple and looks even. Once I started investing in a healthy glow instead of creating one with makeup, my skin thanked me!

In a perfect world, I’d pop on a face mask, rinse, moisturize and be out the door. But this is the real world and sometimes I need a little extra help. That’s where concealer comes in! I’ve pretty much eliminated foundation and tinted moisturizers on weekdays and opt for spot concealing with my Kiko Cosmetics Universal Concealer. Just dab a little under your eyes to cover dark circles and apply over any redness, scars, and blemishes, blend with your beauty blender and you’re set!

Brow gel has become an essential in my daily beauty routine. This step is especially critical when my brows are overdue for a threading. I can easily brush my brow hairs into place and trust that they’ll stay exactly how I want them all day.

Now for my favorite step: mascara! Coating your eyelashes in a good mascara instantly opens your eyes and makes you look more awake. It’s a simple step, the key is finding your holy grail mascara. I love L’Oreal Telescopic and Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes to instantly glam up my look.

The final touch? Just add your favorite lip balm. With the crippling winter cold, this step is twice as important! Finishing off with a lip balm will keep your lips moisturized while adding a slightly glossy look to your lips. My trusty go-to is plain ‘ol shea butter but recently I’ve been reaching for my new Frank Body lip balm in the color Send Nudes. A product that’s just as cheeky as I am? Count me in!
