I'm Obsessed! (Featuring JORD Watches)

Let's talk favorites! I've tried quite a few new things lately (from skincare products to accessories to tv shows) that I've quickly become obsessed with and now I want to share! No long intro needed here--let's dive right in!

I've mentioned before that I have sensitive, oily, AND acne prone skin. This can make something as simple as finding a good face wash a really big task. I've used a TON of products (from over-the-counter to prescription to natural) to try to whip my face into shape but nothing I tried gave me the results I was looking for. One day, I randomly picked up this bar of organic aloe vera soap from MOM's (to try to calm my skin after an allergic reaction to an EXPENSIVE face wash I had purchased). I would never have expected that this little $1.99 bar of soap would be so unbelievably good to my skin! Breakouts are now few and far between and I am over the moon about it! Right now my skin is the clearest it's been in a really long time and I'm so happy! (But if you're like me and suffer from post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation a.k.a dark spots, make sure you exfoliate regularly to help regenerate your skin.)

When it comes to skincare, if the label has the word "brightening" on it, you might as well just take my money now. This face mask by Andalou Naturals is phenomenal! I typically buy it at Target or MOM's, but if you have trouble finding it you can always find it online. This stuff is amazing. After using this my skin has the most beautiful, healthy glow! I use it for every special occasion to make sure I have soft, smooth, glowing skin which we all know helps makeup look its best. The only complaint I have is that because this is a sheet mask, the serum that soaks the sheet drips down my neck while I'm wearing it. I know I can't be the only one that hates the feeling of dripping (water from wet hair, raindrops, etc.). But I must admit, it's a small price to pay for the amazing results.

Now let's talk about this lip ring trend. I'm LOVING it! It all started with Tanaya Henry, a talented jewelry designer that makes one of a kind pieces for the likes of Beyonce and Erykah Badu. Well, as soon as I saw her new 'lip laces.' I fell head-over-heels. I wasn't quite ready to fork over the $225+ for them though. If you're on a budget like me but still want to rock the look head over to Forever 21 where I found ear cuffs that I improvised and made my very own lip rings. They even carry faux lip rings online (I just couldn't find this at my local F21). Butttt, if you have the cash laying around, go ahead and splurge on a quality piece by Tanaya and support a hard-working Boss Lady.

This month, I was honored to partner with JORD Watches, a brand that masterfully designs one of a kind wooden timepieces. I worked with the team at JORD to select the watch that was most my style and I have to admit, this was not an easy task. The website features four different series of men's watches and women's watches, each of which is available in various color combinations, so no matter your personal style you're guaranteed to find a unique watch you'll love. I chose the Frankie watch in Dark Sandalwood and Smoke. At first, I was worried that styling such a unique watch would be difficult but as it turns out, I was worrying about absolutely nothing! This watch paired amazingly well with everything that I wore and gave me major earthy gal vibes and who doesn't love that?! One of the things that I love most about JORD is the fact that their watches are customizable and can be engraved with any message you want (which makes it a really awesome graduation gift or Mother's Day gift *wink wink*). I must admit though, the face of my Frankie watch was much larger than I had anticipated but after wearing it for a day or two I grew to like the size. It was big and bold, it made a statement, it felt like a unisex watch, and I was into it. My boyfriend even asked if he could have mine...but there's no way I'm giving up this thing...sorry, Babe!

My friends at JORD were kind enough to offer all of my supporters a chance to win a $100 off their first JORD watch purchase by simply clicking here! No pressure though, even if you aren't chosen as the giveaway winner, just by entering you'll get $25 off of your purchase. So what are you waiting for? The Mother's Day and graduation gifts aren't going to buy themselves!

Moving right on to television. I feel like I'm a little tardy to the party with this one but I've finally started watching the Netflix original series 13 Reasons Why and I'm hooked! From the very first episode, it pulls you right in. I'm not sure if I'm the only one but funny enough, when I'm watching I kind of feel like I have no idea whats going on LOL. I haven't finished the season though and I'm hoping for some answers and closures by the time I get to the finale. But this show addresses a serious topic and does not dumb down the complex life of high school students. I vividly remember my high school days and they weren't always a walk in the park. The show is relatable in that sense, it doesn't sugar coat or minimize their trials and tribulations. Anyway, I'm enjoying it and (if you haven't already) you should give it a shot.

That's it for this weeks post!

'Til next time, beauties!
