Checkered Suits, Misty Skies, and Some Decluttering
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I totally enjoyed mine, spent some time with my family and focused on getting my home in order. I can’t focus with a cluttered space. So as much as I wanted to create a ton of content for you this weekend, that just didn’t happen. But that’s alright. Now that my space is nice and clean, my home has a whole new energy and it'll be the perfect environment for me to focus on some upcoming projects.
It’s weekends like these that make me really thankful for all the times I’ve dragged myself out of my warm bed and loaded up my car with outfits, to spend hours and hours shooting. I recently had the pleasure of collaborating with Johnathan Banks to create some editorial-esque images. I’ve been feeling very inspired, have spent a lot of time behind the scenes getting things in order, and really challenging myself to constantly improve the quality of my content (it’s all about self improvement on this side) and Johnathan’s style perfectly matched what I’ve been looking for. Despite the overcast weather and non-stop misting, we created some of my favorite work to date.
Now let's talk about this outfit. I got a ton of love on this little ensemble from few weeks ago. I have to admit, I was a little intimidated by the menswear look but it was a lot easier to pull off than I anticipated. And any apprehension I had disappeared the minute I put this power suit on and I instantly felt like a force to be reckoned with. My favorite part though, is the way the sneakers give the fit a casual, everyday vibe.
This blazer was such a steal. It's a Calvin Klein piece that I found at Nordstrom Rack for $70. That price tag is a tad on the steep side for me, but I knew it'd be an item I'd get a ton of wear from so I bit the bullet and invested. With blazers being very on trend this season, I was already in search of a good blazer and this one is timeless. The blazer may have been a splurge piece but the pants were the total opposite. I came across these on my monthly stroll through Forever 21 and loved how versatile they'd be. Not only could I see myself wearing them to the office, but I could also make them trendy and style them for a night out.
